(Wonderwall) – Los Angeles police say “Seinfeld” actor Jason Alexander struck a 14-year-old bicyclist while driving, but the boy wasn’t seriously injured.

Police spokeswoman Norma Eisenman says Alexander hit the biker Tuesday along Wilshire Boulevard in the Mid-City area. Eisenman says Alexander stopped and waited for police and wasn’t cited. She says the boy suffered minor injuries and was in stable condition when he was taken to a hospital for examination. Alexander played neurotic friend George Costanza on “Seinfeld.”

A call seeking comment from his publicist Ron Hoffman wasn’t immediately returned.

(OMG!) – Sandra Bullock has filed for divorce from her husband, Jesse James, and is adopting a baby boy as a single parent. “Yes, I have filed for divorce,” the 45-year-old Oscar-winning actress said in an interview with People magazine, posted Wednesday on its website. “I’m sad and I am scared.”

Bullock and James, 41, began the adoption process four years ago, the People article said, and brought 3 1/2-month-old Louis Bardo Bullock home in January but decided to keep the news to themselves until after the Academy Awards.

In the interview, Bullock said she is savoring her new maternal status. “You wake up, you feed, you burp, you play, you do laundry,” she said. “I’m still in that stage where I’m just amazed with him and at life.” “All I said when I met him was, ‘Oh, there you are.’ It was like he had always been a part of our lives.”

The baby, called Louie, is named after jazz great Louis Armstrong, who had particularly touched Bullock with his signature song, “What a Wonderful World,” she said. The child was born in New Orleans, a city where Bullock and James had both spent time after Katrina.

Bullock said she and James sought to pull no strings as they submitted to the typically time-consuming screening process, with no thoughts to the gender or background of the child they might receive. “We somehow knew the right little person would come,” she said.

Bullock said she got the call that a baby might be available for adoption during what she described as “the media craziness of the awards season.” Deciding to shield Louis from that turmoil, she kept his existence hidden from all but a few trusted associates and loved ones. (MSNBC) – Riverdale High is getting its first gay character. Archie Comics announced Thursday that in an issue out Sept. 1, the long-running comic will introduce its first “openly gay” character, Kevin Keller.
The strapping blond will defeat Jughead in a burger eating contest, win the affection of Veronica and wrestle over how to gently rebuff her flirtations. Jon Goldwater, co-CEO of Archie Comics, says the introduction of Kevin is “about keeping the world of Archie Comics current and inclusive.”

(MSNBC) – Bret Michaels’s health has taken a turn for the worse, PEOPLE has learned: After an excruciating headache late Thursday night, the star was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where doctors discovered he suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem), according to a source close to the situation.

Michaels, 47, is currently in critical condition. “After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation,” the source says. The rocker’s latest hospital visit follows his emergency appendectomy in San Antonio, Texas, on April 12. There is no word yet whether this new development is related to the rocker’s recent appendectomy or to his diabetes. Click here to read more.

(MSN) – The acrobatic troupe Cirque du Soleil announced Tuesday that it will put on a live touring show featuring the songs of the King of Pop starting late next year. That will be followed by a permanent production in Las Vegas in 2012 at a property owned by casino operator MGM Mirage. The casino company did not say which venue will host the show.

Cirque and Jackson’s estate will each own 50 percent of the project and share equally in the cost of putting it on. The estate will also receive royalties from the use of Jackson’s music and other property. But Jackson’s father is not happy with that decision telling Popeater.com, “That’s something else, isn’t it? I won’t see it.” Jackson’s mother doesn’t mind. Katherine has backed the venture, insisting the Jackson clan is supporting the plans.

She says in a statement, “Our family is thrilled that Cirque du Soleil will pay tribute to my son in such an important way.”

(Mashable.com) – UK drivers had better stay under that speed limit, because the traffic authorities are watching… from outer space. According to The Telegraph, an American company called PIPS Technology has developed a system that uses two cameras on the ground and one mounted on a satellite in orbit to catch speeders.

The system — called “SpeedSpike” — figures your average speed between two points, captures an image of your license place and reports you if you’re going faster than the law allows. Oh, and if you’re hoping Great Britain’s notoriously gray weather will save you, you’re out of luck; the system works even when it’s cloudy or dark.

SpeedSpike will be tested in two places: the London borough of Southwark, and along the A374 between Torpoint and Anthony in Cornwall. If the trial is successful, the tech may be used to enforce speed limits near schools, to reduce the need for speed bumps, and for “main road enforcement for traffic reduction.”

(CNN) – Rihanna made a brief stop at a Swiss emergency room to get an injured rib checked by a doctor Monday night, the singer’s publicist said.

“She had an injured rib and went to have it looked at to be sure it was nothing serious, and it wasn’t,” Amanda Silverman told CNN. “All is OK and the tour is going great.” The publicist did not say if the injury was suffered during a show. Rihanna performed in Zurich’s Hallenstadion arena Monday evening. The 22-year-old hip hop star is in the middle of the European leg of her “Last Girl on Earth” tour. The injury didn’t stop her from performing Tuesday night in Lyon, France.

Sydney man Ray Graham, 57, appeared on Channel Nine’s A Current Affair this week to talk about about a number of dogs terrorizing his street in Marsfield. His accurate impersonation of a snarling dog, delivered while his wife Kerry remains emotionless, has fast become a YouTube sensation. It even appeared on American network CNN where a recording was played to a number of dogs on TV. The dogs appeared scared and backed away from the sound.

(Hip Hop Wired) – “I think the world is getting more gay-friendly, so Hip-Hop is too…”

Like it or not Nicki Minaj is arguably the hottest female rapper on the scene and continuing to promote her trademark Barbie image while trying to balance her new task as a role model.

YM’s head mistress is also speaking frankly about her sexual orientation admitting that her lines about relationships with men and women are more than just lyrics and confirming that she’s an openly bisexual woman.

Speaking in an interview Nicki speaks candidly on her sexuality saying that she hopes she can help Hip-Hop to one day embrace an openly gay male rapper.

When asked by Details if she thinks being an openly bisexual rapper will Hip-Hop get more “gay –friendly” she answers,

“I think the world is getting more gay-friendly, so hip-hop is too. But it’s harder to imagine an openly gay male rapper being embraced. People view gay men as having no street credibility. But I think we’ll see one in my lifetime.”

(Mashable.com) – Engadget believes it has the first photos of Apple’s new iPhone, and though the evidence is not conclusive, gadget geeks are engaging in a frenzy of speculation and anticipation. The popular gadget blog received photos of a cell phone that could be the next generation iPhone yesterday, but people began to doubt its authenticity when someone came forward claiming to have the same device and that it was actually a Japanese knockoff. Then Engadget discovered that it had evidence sitting on its proverbial desk for weeks, and found a “trusted source” that confirmed that the design is real.

The evidence in question is actually a pre-launch, leaked photo of the iPad, included below. An iPhone with a design similar if not identical to that depicted in these new photos was sitting in the background of the iPad picture and no one noticed until now.
